A rather slender, scented perennial with small, decumbent, leafy stems 5-8 cm long, and glabrous, erect, flowering stems 15-30 cm tall, growing from a prostrate, rooting portion.
Ecology UK: (distribution according to flora) It is an infrequent plant of wet places on sandy soils in lowland England, rare in the north, and in Ireland.

Floraison France : Juillet-octobre.
Flowers: 3 mm diam., in distant whorls in long, interrupted spikes; calyx, pedicels and corolla all hairy; calyx unequally 5-fid, teeth acute, shorter than tube; corolla blue-lilac, hairy outside; stamens exserted.
